There is a myth going around in the homeschool world -- a BIG myth.
The myth says you need a curriculum - or a PROGRAM - to homeschool your children.
These programs claim to be the answer to all of our questions, problems, and fears.
I disagree with the myth.
I've homeschooled my children on my own, without a curriculum or community, and those were sweet days full of wonderful memories. My children learned a lot in those years.
I have come to the conclusion that homeschooling requires 4 simple things:
Commitment. Love. Courage. Consistency.
As we prepare for a new school year (many of you it will be your FIRST year homeschooling), this will be a series that talks about what it REALLY takes to homeschool... I'm not going to sugar coat anything and I'm not going to advocate any ONE method or program.
We're just going to have straight talk about homeschooling in the trenches.
